I can look back over my life and think of numerous times that I saw an individual in a certain situration, such as being homeless, and I already had a preset ideas about them in my mind. That's not okay.
I remember looking at foster kids and thinking that they must have done something terrilble... until I worked at the children's home. I thought kids in JDCs were just trouble makers... until I worked in one. I thought that addicts purposely messed up their lives as well as those around them... until I worked in the addiction field, now being a substance abuse counselor.
I felt guilty that I was so quick to judge and I want to help fix this problem. Through "The Faces Of:" I hope take away some of our preconceived ideas that society has put into our heads.
